How is Stonetile installed?
Stonetile is secured using a mechanical fastening system with 1” #8 screws and is installed on plywood or OSB sheathing (minimum 3/8” thick).
Do I need additional support brackets for Stonetile?
No. Each panel carries its own weight, eliminating the need for metal brackets or ledges required in traditional stone or brick installations.
What is the built-in rainscreen system?
Stonetile features an integrated 10mm air gap, allowing moisture to escape and preventing rot, mold, and water damage. No furring strips or additional rain screen systems are required.
Can Stonetile be installed in cold weather?
Yes, since no mortar is required, Stonetile can be installed year-round, even in freezing temperatures.
What type of caulking is used for Stonetile?
We use Tremco Dymonic FC Polyurethane caulking for its superior adhesion, flexibility, and durability, ensuring expansion and contraction during freeze-thaw cycles. The joints are then brushed with mineral sand for texture and UV protection.
